CVS Health Corp. on Tuesday said it has agreed to acquire the retail and specialty pharmacy businesses of privately-held Schnuck Markets Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

The Woonsocket, R.I., healthcare-services giant said it will acquire and operate 99 of the Midwest grocer's pharmacies and rebrand them as CVS Pharmacy.

CVS said it will also acquire the prescription files from 11 Schnuck pharmacies and transfer them to nearby CVS Pharmacy locations.

CVS said it expects to complete the acquisition by end of the second quarter.
