“We are so privileged to celebrate 40 years of keeping families
close. The Hearts and Hands Gala is our opportunity to recognize
the devotion of some of the generous individuals who have had an
extraordinary impact on our mission,” said Beth Howell, President
and CEO, Atlanta RMHC. “Helen and Jimmy Carlos exemplify the
kindness and compassion at the heart of our mission. We are deeply
grateful for their tremendous leadership and longstanding
generosity in building our capacity to nurture the health and
well-being of a growing number of children and families.”
The Hearts and Hands Gala, presented by The Coca-Cola Company,
is the organization’s signature black-tie, seated dinner event
featuring silent and live auctions. Proceeds from the event will
benefit more than 3,200 families of sick and injured children
served by Atlanta RMHC each year.
The Gala has raised more than $4 million since its inception,
including $800,000 in 2018, to support the operations of Atlanta’s
two Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald
McDonald Care Mobile – all of which help keep families with sick
children close to each other and the care and resources they need
during a difficult time.
“Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities has always held a
special place in my heart,” said Helen Carlos, who will accept the
award in-person with her husband, Jimmy, the evening of October 19.
“It means so much to me to see the impact that this Charity has on
families experiencing the most trying times of their lives. We are
glad we can help bring care and comfort to families of sick
children when they need it most.”
The event will feature dancing and a performance by Bogey and
The Viceroy. Individual tickets are available from $400 each/$800
per couple at armhc.org/gala. Corporate sponsorship opportunities
are also available.
“Atlanta RMHC’s programs provide the support that families with
sick children need so they can focus on their child’s health,” said
Gilles Leclerc, event chair of the Hearts and Hands Gala and
President of The McDonald’s Division at The Coca-Cola Company. “The
Coca-Cola Company is proud to partner with Atlanta RMHC, an
organization which has made a difference in the lives of more than
56,000 families of sick and injured children over the past 40
years.”
