Adding new plans to Orlando for this year’s AEP

Global health service company Cigna today announced it will add some new plans in Orlando and will extend its highly rated Medicare Advantage (MA) plans to the Daytona Beach and Tampa areas. The plans will first be available during Medicare’s Annual Election Period (AEP), which begins Oct. 15 and continues through Dec. 7. These plans will be effective Jan. 1, 2020.

The new Orlando plans include Cigna Preferred Part B Savings, an HMO with a $50 monthly credit toward the customer’s Medicare Part B premium, and Cigna Primary, an HMO for those who qualify for assistance on their drugs.

In addition to the Orlando area, Cigna’s MA plans will be available in Brevard and Volusia counties in the Daytona Beach area and Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties in the Tampa area.

Cigna’s Medicare Advantage plans in central Florida have received five out of five Stars from Medicare based on quality and customer satisfaction for 2020, marking the second straight year for this achievement.

“Cigna offers a variety of Medicare Advantage plans in central Florida. Some have no additional monthly premium at all, while others have affordable premiums, coupled with attractive benefits not available through traditional Medicare,” said Steve Saathoff, Market President, North Florida Medicare Advantage. “Our robust benefits are reinforced by an intense focus on working closely with doctors and other health care professionals to deliver highly personalized care.”

Cigna’s physician engagement model focuses on working with health care professionals to tailor incentives and solutions specific to individual needs. For patients, this means their doctors spend time understanding their current health and identifying potential health risks to prevent future illness. By focusing on preventive care, Cigna can help doctors diagnose health conditions early and create the opportunity for individuals to make lifestyle changes to improve health outcomes.

“Cigna has offered health benefits plans to people in central Florida through area employers for the past 40 years, and we are pleased to now extend our Medicare Advantage offerings to more cities this area,” said Dean Mirabella, Market President, North Florida. “Cigna connects people to affordable, quality care from local doctors and pharmacies, and offers many personalized and simplified services to help improve overall health, well-being and vitality.”

Cigna will offer four different plans in Tampa and Daytona Beach: Cigna TotalCare, which is an HMO for people eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, Cigna Preferred Part B Savings, Cigna Primary, and a flagship HMO plan called Cigna Preferred. Cigna Preferred includes the following attractive benefits:
