PUBLIC SERVICE DECLARES COMMON STOCK DIVIDEND On Sept. 1, 2005, the
board of directors of Central Vermont Public Service (NYSE: CV)
declared a quarterly dividend of 23 cents per share on the
outstanding common stock, $6 par value, payable Nov. 15, 2005 to
stockholders of record at the close of business Oct. 31, 2005. CVPS
is Vermont's largest electric utility, serving over 150,000
customers statewide. The company's two non-regulated subsidiaries
include Catamount Energy Corporation and Eversant Corporation.
Catamount invests in non-regulated energy generation projects in
the United States and United Kingdom with a current focus on
developing, owning and operating wind energy projects. Eversant
sells and rents electric water heaters through a subsidiary,
SmartEnergy Water Heating Services.
