BWX Technologies Inc. shares were up 6% to $59 Thursday after the company said it received a contract with an estimated ceiling of $21 billion over a 10-year ordering period from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The company said the contract is for environmental management operations at the Savannah River site in South Carolina.

The DOE gave the award for the Savannah River Site Integrated Mission Completion Contract to Savannah River Mission Completion LLC, which is a joint venture led by a BWX subsidiary and includes subsidiaries of Amentum and Fluor Corp.

BWX Technologies said the scope of work for the contract includes liquid waste stabilization/disposition and potentially nuclear materials management and stabilization, among other requirements.
