ABB Ltd. (ABBN.EB) said Tuesday that it has signed a contract to
supply propulsion systems for China's first ever locally built
cruise ship.
The contract also includes an electric power plant with
generators, switchboards, distribution transformers and a
propulsion-control system, the Swiss engineering group said.
ABB didn't disclose the contract's value.
The 323-meter vessel, due for delivery in 2023, can accommodate
5,000 passengers and is designed to suit the tastes of Chinese
cruise travelers, ABB said.
