FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- webMethods, Inc. (NASDAQ:WEBM), a leading business integration and optimization software company, today announced that Mark Wabschall is resigning as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Wabschall cited family reasons for his decision. Mr. Wabschall stated that he intends to remain with webMethods through the end of the calendar year and that he intends to sign the company's upcoming quarterly report on Form 10-Q and other filings during the transition period. The Company will immediately begin a retained search for a new Chief Financial Officer to be led by Korn Ferry. The company also announced that its board of directors has appointed John Andary as Executive Vice President and designated him principal financial officer of the company. Mr. Andary has been engaged by the company on an interim basis and will assume certain of Mr. Wabschall's current responsibilities during the transition period. Mr. Andary is a consultant with more than 30 years of finance and accounting experience. Most recently he served as interim Chief Financial Officer of Covansys Corporation, a publicly-traded global consulting and technology company. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Syntel, Inc., a publicly-traded global information technology services company. Mr. Andary also has held various financial management positions with ADP, Inc. and Unisys Corporation, and worked as an audit manager with Coopers & Lybrand. In addition, webMethods' board of directors has appointed Michael Krone to the position of Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Krone joined the company as Vice President, Finance in June 2006. Before joining webMethods, Mr. Krone served as an Industry Controller with Bearing Point, Inc.
