Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. said it has started administering
Pfizer Inc.'s Covid-19 vaccine to residents and staff at nursing
homes and assisted-living facilities in Ohio and Connecticut, as
part of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention program.
The pharmacy chain said Friday it plans to provide vaccinations
in about 800 long-term care facilities across 12 states for the
week of Dec. 21. It will then expand vaccinations to nearly three
million residents and staff at 35,000 long-term care facilities, it
said.
The vaccines aren't available to the general population at this
time, Walgreens said.
