EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Amendment No. 1 (this “ Amendment ”) to the certain Forms 8-A (the “ Registration Statements ”) is being filed pursuant to Section 12(b) under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended (the “ Exchange Act ”), by TravelCenters of America Inc., a Maryland corporation (the “ Registrant ”), as the successor registrant to TravelCenters of America LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (the “ LLC ”). Effective at 12:01 a.m. (Eastern Time) on August 1, 2019, the LLC converted from a Delaware limited liability company to a Maryland corporation.

The Registrant expressly adopts the Registration Statements, as modified by this Amendment, as its own registration statements for all purposes of the Exchange Act. The 8.25% Senior Notes due 2028, the 8.00% Senior Notes due 2029 and the 8.00% Senior Notes due 2030 will continue to trade on The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC under the ticker symbols “TANNI,” “TANNL” and “TANNZ,” respectively.

This Amendment amends the Registration Statements as follows:
