Superconductor Technologies Inc. to Present at the Applied Superconductivity Conference
October 29 2018 - 6:30AM
Superconductor Technologies Inc. (STI) (Nasdaq: SCON) will present
at the Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC) in Seattle,
Washington. STI’s VP, Engineering Ken Pfeiffer will deliver a
presentation titled: “2G HTS Coated Conductors: Processing &
Testing enhancements for multiple applications.” The presentation
will be be held in the “Coated Conductors V: Industrial
Development” technical session on October 31st at 4:45 p.m. PT.
“In line with the conference’s theme of Enabling Breakthroughs
for the World, 2G HTS wire is recognized as the key enabling
technology for Next Generation Electric Machines (NGEMs),” said
Adam Shelton, STI’s VP, Marketing and Product Management.“NGEMs are
expected to play an instrumental role in the future competitiveness
of America’s electric grid, along with providing large scale
manufacturers solutions that solve the current limitations of
conventional technologies. Conductus wire continues to demonstrate
industry leading performance for NGEM and other magnet
applications. We look forward to meeting with current and
prospective customers for our enhanced HTS wire technology at
ASC.”
Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC)Oct.
28th – Nov. 2nd, 2018 SeattleASC is the premier conference on
applied superconductivity. For more than five decades, ASC has been
an important gathering point for the electronics and materials
fields within the applied superconductivity community. At this
major international forum participants meet to present and discuss
the latest developments in the field of superconductivity. The
meeting will attract a broad spectrum of participants in research,
technology development, and industrial manufacturing of
superconducting wire and devices along with end users for a wide
variety of applications. Participants from U.S. and international
industry, universities, national laboratories, and other government
agencies will address recent progress in a wide variety of
applications. Presenting for STI will be Ken Pfeiffer, VP
Engineering.
About Superconductor Technologies Inc.
(STI)Superconductor Technologies Inc. is a global leader
in superconducting innovation. Its Conductus® superconducting wire
platform offers high performance, cost-effective and scalable
superconducting wire. With 100 times the current carrying capacity
of conventional copper and aluminum, superconducting wire offers
zero resistance with extreme high current density. This provides a
significant benefit for electric power transmission and also
enables much smaller or more powerful magnets for motors,
generators, energy storage and medical equipment. Since 1987, STI
has led innovation in HTS materials, developing more than 100
patents as well as proprietary trade secrets and manufacturing
expertise. For more than 20 years STI utilized its unique HTS
manufacturing process for solutions to maximize capacity
utilization and coverage for Tier 1 telecommunications operators.
