Enterprise video leader adds John Poole to accelerate partner
growth in Unified Communications and Software as a Service (SaaS)
markets
Qumu (NASDAQ: QUMU), a leader in enterprise video, announced the
hiring of software and video industry veteran John Poole to lead
worldwide growth of strategic partnerships. As Vice President of
Worldwide Channel and Alliances, Poole will expand Qumu’s network
of third-party developers and resellers including hardware and
software developers, service providers and system integrators.
“John brings tremendous experience in growing ecosystems for
SaaS businesses, particularly in the enterprise video solutions
market,” said Vern Hanzlik, President and CEO of Qumu. “His
connections in the industry give us instant access to an
international network of potential partners who trust him, and
value his ability to build strong relationships and grow
revenue.”
Poole’s experience encompasses more than 25 years in the voice,
data, video networking and unified communications industries,
including ten years at Polycom and eight years at Alcatel-Lucent.
Poole has held multiple executive-level channel development roles
in large organizations, and led numerous teams and programs
spanning North America, EMEA and APAC.
“I’m excited to bring Qumu’s offering to new partners needing a
trusted provider that is already proven in many of the world’s
largest enterprises,” noted Poole. “Qumu’s strategy is perfectly
timed with the growing demand for true enterprise-grade video
solutions, designed for extensibility and backed by the best
support in the industry.”
“This new position is directly in support of Qumu’s Qx strategy
to open our enterprise video content management and delivery
platform to third parties for integration and extension,” Hanzlik
added.
Last month at its Client Summit in New York, Qumu announced
Qx, the industry’s most extensible, end-to-end enterprise
video platform addressing the exponential growth of video in global
businesses. Qx is highly modular, with open APIs, making it even
easier for third party developers to add extensions, like Qumu’s
seamless integration with Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business
and Citrix. One of Poole’s first tasks will be to generate
excitement for this new platform among current and potential
channel partners.
