RapidAPI, a marketplace that helps developers find and connect to publicly available application programming interfaces, or APIs, on Tuesday said it raised $25 million in series B funding round led by Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) venture fund M12.

DNS Capital and previous investors Andreessen Horowitz and Green Bay Capital also participated in the round, which brings RapidAPI's total funding to $37.5 million.

The startup's valuation wasn't disclosed.

APIs are pieces of software that make digital platforms possible, allowing an app to connect to an operating system, a cloud, social or productivity platform, or another app.

RapidAPI said it will use the funding to continue scaling its API marketplace to help more developers discover and connect to public APIs, as well as share and collaborate on internal APIs.
