FormFactor, Inc. (Nasdaq:FORM) today announced that it has signed a
technology agreement with Hynix Semiconductor Inc. to provide the
Korean-based memory manufacturer with advanced wafer probe cards
using FormFactor's proprietary test equipment extension technology,
known as TRE(TM) test technology. FormFactor estimates that by
utilizing its TRE technology, Hynix will be able to increase the
total test capacity of its existing test equipment by more than
75%. "As one of the world's leading memory manufacturers, Hynix is
dedicated to providing its customers with premium products, on time
and at an excellent value. Achieving this goal rests on the ability
to lower the cost of production, as well as improve manufacturing
and test efficiency," said Sung Wook Park, Senior Vice President,
Research and Development Division, Hynix. "FormFactor's TRE
technology helps us to increase our test cell productivity without
increasing our capital equipment costs, so we can better meet our
customers' requirements." "FormFactor's years of experience in
developing solutions to test more die in parallel have translated
into significant savings to semiconductor manufacturers," said Joe
Bronson, FormFactor's president. "Our engagement with Hynix
exemplifies how we work with customers to help them lower their
overall cost of production on leading-edge 300mm DRAM wafers."
