DSP Group®, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSPG), a leading global provider of
wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, today
announced that its DECT/ULE solution will power the Deutsche
Telekom´s innovative smart speaker with two-way HD voice to support
hands-free calling from the speaker.
Two way voice use cases are taking center stage as an innovative
application of HD voice technology, paving the way for other
voice-enabled smart home applications.
“DSP Group is leading the charge to ensure that as voice becomes
a mainstay for smart home communication and interaction, the
quality is unsurpassed, and reliability exceeds consumer
expectations,” commented Ofer Elyakim, CEO of DSP Group. “DECT and
ULE technologies are the only ones on the market built specifically
for voice applications. DSP Group has spent the last 20 years
perfecting our SoC solutions to offer superior customer experiences
and enabling leading OEM and service providers’ to deliver
innovative smart home products for new and exciting applications
without worrying about voice quality, latency, reliability, signal
reach, or interference.”
The opportunity to capitalize on DECT/ULE features is very
attractive for smart home applications. DT’s smart speakers with
DECT benefits include HD voice with no latency, high reliability,
dedicated bandwidth, long reach and lack of interference. With the
emergence of voice enabled devices and two-way voice interaction
for smart speakers and other devices, voice in the smart home is
fast becoming the interface-of-choice and DECT/ULE is gaining
ground as the go-to wireless standard for applications requiring
transfer of high-quality voice. DSP Group is supporting the efforts
of companies worldwide looking to integrate voice into their
solutions and is a pioneer in voice technology for both DECT and
ULE.
“Deutsche Telekom is a communications company and telephony is
one of our core services. With the ability to leverage DSP Group’s
HD voice solution in our Smart Speaker to make high quality voice
calls with all the benefits of DECT gives us a competitive
advantage,” commented Bernd Müller, Lead Product Manager for Smart
Speaker at Deutsche Telekom. “Customer Experience is most important
for a successful product, thus low latency and proper sound quality
is key for our product. Our Smart Speaker will give our customers
the ability to make and receive brilliant voice calls in handsfree
