Dish Network Corp. (DISH) said profit fell 7.6% for the first quarter as the company reported slightly lower subscriber-related revenue and higher expenses.

The company said profit was $339.8 million, or 65 cents a share, down from $367.6 million, or 70 cents a share a year ago. Analysts polled by Refinitiv were expecting earnings of 65 cents a share.

Dish said revenue fell about 7.8% to $3.19 billion from a year ago, in line with analysts' expectations.

The company had 12.1 million total Pay-TV subscribers, including 9.6 million Dish TV subscribers and 2.4 million Sling TV subscribers.

Net pay-TV subscribers dropped about 259,000 subscribers in the quarter. It had lost 94,000 subscribers in the same quarter last year.
