The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority said Monday that it has fined Amazon.com Inc. for a delay in providing complete responses to information requests linked to the tech giant's investment in London-based startup Deliveroo.

The antitrust regulator said it has imposed penalties of 25,000 pounds ($33,203) and GBP30,000 relating to Amazon's incomplete responses to two sets of statutory information requests, which resulted in 189 documents being produced after the initial deadline.

The CMA said Amazon did ultimately provide all of the information required, but said it believes the company's behavior caused unnecessary delays to an investigation into the Deliveroo investment.

The CMA cleared Amazon's 16% investment in the food-delivery startup last month, following an in-depth investigation.
