Amazon.com Inc.'s (AMZN) Twitch business has acquired videogame portal operator IGDB.

IGDB said in a Medium post that its application programming interface is "here to stay, and we are merging our premium and free tiers into a single new free tier." The sale price wasn't stated.

Twitch, known for videogame live-streaming, has added content such as NFL's "Thursday Night Football." According to press reports in June, Twitch bought Bebo for up to $25 million.
