Altera Corporation (NASDAQ:ALTR) today announced its Stratix® V FPGAs received Application of Electronic Technique China magazine's (AET China) “2010 Top Product Award” in the programmable logic category. The Top Product Award recognizes technologies that have demonstrated the greatest innovations targeting the system design community.

Winners of the Top Product Award were selected by AET China readers and industry experts who recognized Stratix V FPGAs for innovations in performance and power and its wide market application. This is the second consecutive year Altera has been honored by AET China with product awards. For more than 30 years, AET China magazine has been a highly respected and trusted resource in the industry, providing unbiased opinions and informative news on electronics and computing industries.

"Stratix V FPGAs deliver key architectural innovations that allow designers to achieve higher bandwidth and lower power through an unprecedented level of system integration," said Yu Lian, chief editor, AET China. "This comprehensive approach rewards designers with many benefits including higher performance, lower power and higher integration through extensive hardening of intellectual property. Based on these product innovations, Stratix V FPGAs are highly deserving of this recognition."

"Receiving AET China's Top Product Award for the second consecutive year is a tremendous validation of Altera's technological innovations," said Luanne Schirrmeister, senior director of component marketing at Altera. "The groundbreaking innovations included in our Stratix V FPGAs extend beyond the benefits possible through Moore's Law alone, enabling customers to meet demands for increasingly higher bandwidth applications while staying within their cost and power budgets."
