Google Inc., which said last week that it would wind down its Work with Nest program, provided an updated plan after receiving questions about the transition to the Works with Google Assistant platform.
The Alphabet Inc. (GOOG, GOOGL) unit said in a blog post Thursday that "Your existing devices and integrations will continue working with your Nest Account, however you won't have access to new features that will be available with a Google Account."
The company will stop accepting new Works with Nest connections on Aug. 31.
Google said "we recognize you may want your Nest devices to work with other connected ecosystems," and is working with Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) "to migrate the Nest skill that lets you control your Nest thermostat and view your Nest camera livestream via Amazon Alexa."
