Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai on Wednesday said the company was planning to spend $13 billion this year on data centers and offices across the U.S.
The program calls for major expansions in 14 states, and will allow Google to "hire tens of thousands of employees, and enable the creation of more than 10,000 new construction jobs in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia.
The new investments will expand Google's prescence in 24 states, including data centers in 13 communities, Mr. Pichai said on his blog.
