UniCredit SpA said Friday that a Milan-based employee tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Italian bank said the employee has been in self-quarantine since Feb. 21 after having been in contact with a suspected case.

"UniCredit decided on Feb. 23 to close the floor where the employee was working. The floor has now been deep-cleaned and disinfected and will remain off limits until further notice," the bank said in a statement.

UniCredit contacted all employees who may have been in contact with the infected employee, suggesting they self-quarantine for two weeks.
