LOS GATOS, CA , a pioneering developer of network traffic and service management infrastructure equipment, today announced that John Pirillo, a high-tech industry veteran with more than 24 years of experience, has joined the company's management team as vice president of sales for the Americas. He will lead the Procera Networks sales team in the region in delivering advanced deep packet inspection solutions to wireline and wireless telcos, cable operators, ISPs, higher-education institutions and other organizations.

Mr. Pirillo is a highly accomplished, results-oriented sales executive with extensive experience in helping early- to mid-stage companies rapidly capture market share. He has been responsible for annual revenue streams in excess of $200M per year, and has managed sales teams with revenue responsibilities across all segments of network service providers, including wireline, wireless, cable multi-system operators (MSOs), ISPs and the federal government.

Most recently, he was vice president of sales - Americas for Ellacoya Networks, a maker of deep packet inspection technology (sold to Arbor Networks in 2008). Previously, he served in the capacity of vice president of sales for the following organizations: ECI Telecom, Caspian Networks, and Amber Networks (sold to Nokia in 2001). He also held sales management positions at Ascend Communications (sold to Lucent Technologies in 1999) and Network Systems Corp. He began his career at Lockheed Martin working in both technical programming and sales/marketing roles.

He holds an M.B.A. degree from Rollins College and a B.S. degree in marketing and computer science from the University of Central Florida.
