Shares of Spotify Technology S.A. spiked more than 9% Tuesday afternoon, with Spotify saying it reached an exclusive deal to stream martial arts commentator and comedian Joe Rogan's podcast.

Mr. Rogan's podcast -- called "The Joe Rogan Experience" -- is the streaming platform's most-searched-for podcast, Spotify said Tuesday. The podcast will be available on Spotify September 1 and Spotify will exclusively stream the podcast later in 2020, the company said.

Shares of the company increased 9.6% to $176.90 a share. They've added a little more than 18% year to date and over 33% in the last year.
