American International Group Inc. said Jonathan Wismer, its deputy finance chief and chief accounting officer, is leaving the company for other opportunities, effective March 31.

The finance and insurance company on Thursday said Elias Habayeb, AIG's senior vice president and finance chief for general insurance, has taken up Mr. Wismer's roles, effective March 9.

Mr. Habayeb has served as senior vice president and finance chief for general insurance since August 2018. He previously was the company's senior vice president, deputy finance chief and group controller from July 2015 to August 2018. From April to July 2015, he served as senior vice president and deputy finance chief.

Mr. Wismer took up his roles at AIG in August 2018. He has also worked for Zurich Insurance Co. and Liberty Mutual Insurance.
