Phillips 66 Reports Flaring at Refinery in Southern California

Phillips 66 (PSX) reported above-normal flaring of gas emissions
at its refinery in the Los Angeles area of southern California.
"Over 500 pounds of sulfur dioxide was released into the
atmosphere from flaring due to unknown cause," the refinery said in
a statement to the California Emergency Management Agency, noting
an investigation into the cause has begun. It said the emissions
began Tuesday night and were ongoing.
Phillips has two refinery facilities in the Los Angeles area,
one in Carson and the other nearby in Wilmington, that together
have a crude capacity of 139,000 barrels a day, according to its
website. The flaring incident happened at the Carson plant.
