--Munich Re plans to increase earnings to more than EUR3 billion in the coming years, German newspaper Handelsblatt reports.

--The German reinsurer considers it possible to increase earnings by EUR300 million in the near term, Handelsblatt says, citing people familiar with the situation.

--Munich Re will present its long-term plan to investors in the fall, the newspaper says.

--In November, the reinsurer forecast a 2019 profit of more than EUR2.5 billion.
