Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) Friday said John Elicker, executive vice president of corporate affairs and investor relations, will retire March 31.

The New York biopharmaceutical company said Kathryn Metcalfe, currently chief communications officer at CVS Health Corp. (CVS), will join as executive vice president of corporate affairs, effective Jan. 6.

Bristol-Myers said Ms. Metcalfe, who became communications chief at CVS as part of its acquisition of Aetna, will join its leadership team and report to Chairman and Chief Executive Giovanni Caforio.

A CVS spokesman said the Woonsocket, R.I., healthcare-services company has begun a search for Ms. Metcalfe's successor, adding that it will include internal and external candidates.

Mr. Elicker joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2000 as senior director of investor relations. The company said it named Tim Power vice president and head of investor relations, effective upon Mr. Elicker's retirement March 31.
