Walmart Inc.'s (WMT) Asda Group Ltd. said Thursday that third-quarter like-for-like sales excluding fuel declined 0.5%.

For the period ended Sept. 30, the U.K. grocer said that despite the like-for-like sales decline, online sales remained strong with continued growth ahead of the market. It didn't provide any specific figures.

"In the U.K., comp sales declined 0.5 percent as customers' concerns over Brexit continue to weigh on results. Despite this challenging environment, the Asda team continues to drive operational and service improvements that are resonating with customers, including strong growth in online grocery," Chief Financial Officer Brett Biggs said.
