Ford Motor Co. (F) will end production of the Flex crossover,
citing its plan to focus on faster-growing segments.
Flex production is winding down at the Oakville Assembly Complex
in Ontario. Oakville also built the Lincoln MKT, which ended
production earlier this month, Ford said.
In a statement discussing the history of the Flex, the company
said "it had both crossover and minivan elements in a hip, trendy
package that stood out from what was becoming a really boring
minivan segment." Ford said more than 296,000 were sold during an
11-year run.
