Macy's Inc. (M) said it will stop selling fur by the end of
fiscal 2020 and will close its Fur Vaults and salons.
The move includes all Macy's and Bloomingdale's private brands,
as well as items sold from brand partners.
Macy's said the decision was a "commitment made in partnership
with the Humane Society of the United States." The retailer said
"we have been closely following consumer and brand trends,
listening to our customers and researching alternatives to
fur."
Earlier this month, California became the first state to ban the
sale of new fur products.
