NEW REPORTING STRUCTURE - Historic financials

16 October 2019 - Spectris plc ('Spectris') (LSE: SXS), the productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company, today issues summary historic financial information for its new reporting structure.

At its half year results, the Group announced that it had changed its reporting structure from 1 July 2019 and reclassified its segmental reporting. It will now disclose financial information on the three platforms, providing greater transparency on these businesses which comprise approximately 60%(1) of Group revenue and operating profit. The financials for the Industrial Solutions operating companies have been consolidated and are presented as a combined division.

Under this new structure, the Group will report summary financials for:

   --    Malvern Panalytical 
   --    HBK 
   --    Omega Engineering 
   --    Industrial Solutions division

Spectris is today publishing summary financial information on its website (www.spectris.com) for the full year periods ending 31 December 2017 and 2018, and for the first half periods ending 30 June 2017, 2018 and 2019, ahead of the Group's Trading Update, scheduled for 19 November 2019, which will be presented under this new structure. This restatement does not constitute new information and is provided solely for the purposes of providing insight into prior reporting periods.
