Costco September Sales Climb 5.6%

Costco Wholesale Corp.'s (COST) net sales rose in the month of
September, up 5.6% from the same period last year.
Net sales came to $14.41 billion in the five weeks ended Oct. 6,
up from $13.64 billion in the same period last year.
Comparable sales, or those from Costco warehouses open for more
than a year, rose 4.2%, across all its regions. U.S. comparable
sales rose 5%. Meanwhile, online sales rose 17.8% in September.
Excluding gasoline prices and foreign exchange, comparable sales
were up 5.6% across the entire company, and up 5.7% in the U.S.
Online sales rose 18.5%.
