PPG Industries Inc. (PPG) on Monday said it agreed to buy Dexmet Corp., a maker of specialty materials, from private-equity firm Sverica Capital Management LP for an undisclosed amount.

The Pittsburgh paint maker said Dexmet, based in Wallingford, Conn., has 75 employees and specializes in metal foils and polymers used for aerospace, energy storage and other industrial applications.

PPG said it expects to complete the acquisition in the third quarter.

Sverica, which makes equity investments of $10 million to $40 million in companies with enterprise values of less than $100 million, acquired Dexmet from MCM Capital Partners in 2013.
