--Mobile operator Vodafone Group PLC (VOD) has switched on its 5G network in the U.K., offering the service in seven cities, the BBC reports Wednesday.

--London, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol are the cities where the service is being offered, the report said.

--The company will expand 5G service to a dozen additional towns later this year, the report said.
