Wells Fargo Says Hopkins to Be Sole Leader of Renewable Energy & Environmental Finance Business

Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) said Barry Neal will retire July 1,
and Philip Hopkins will assume sole leadership of the company's
Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance business.
For more than a decade, Mr. Neal and Mr. Hopkins jointly led the
group, which is part of Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. To date,
Wells Fargo has funded more than $7.5 billion into more than 400
wind and solar projects throughout the U.S., the company said.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2005, Mr. Hopkins was director
of strategy and business analysis at Mirant Corp. in Atlanta and
earlier worked for the New England Power Co. as a senior engineer
and as a field engineer for Schlumberger Well Services.
Mr. Neal spent 37 years in the energy and environmental sectors.
He joined Wells Fargo in 2006 after spending more than 20 years in
project development, consulting, and investment management,
including as managing director of Energy Investors Funds Group,
Wells Fargo said.
