The Pentagon said Monday Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) was awarded a $724 million contract to provide technical support for the U.S. Department of Defense through its Cisco Smart Net Total Care Service.

The contract has a one-year base period and a one-year option, the Pentagon said. The initial year runs from June 18, 2019 through June 17, 2020, with the option year ending June 17, 2021.

The contract calls for Cisco to provide services across the Department of Defense, the Pentagon said. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity.
