CSX Corp. (CSX) appointed Farrukh A. Bezar as senior vice president and chief strategy officer.

Mr. Bezar will lead the development of strategic initiatives that support the transportation company's focus on growth.

Mr. Bezar most recently was founder and managing partner of Lynwood Partners, a transportation and logistics advisory firm. Prior to Lynwood, he was with Clarendon, Booz Allen Hamilton and A.T. Kearney.

CSX shares were up 0.7% Tuesday morning.
