Intel Corp. (INTC) said Tuesday it achieved gender pay equity
across its worldwide workforce and added stock-based compensation
to its pay-equity analysis.
The semiconductor company said it defines pay equity as closing
the gap in the average pay between employees of different genders
or races and ethnicities in the same or similar roles after
accounting for business factors such as performance, time at grade
level and tenure.
Intel said it has changed its methodology to take a more
comprehensive approach to analyzing global workforce pay data and
closing gaps. In the past, adjustments were made only to the cash
portion of employees' compensation, meaning base pay and bonus. In
2018, Intel said, it began evaluating total compensation, including
stock grants.
