Total SA (FP.FR) will offer a 1,500 euro ($1,702.74) bonus to its French employees following annual pay negotiations with unions, Chief Executive Patrick Pouyanne said in a tweet late Tuesday.

The company will propose a pay rise of 3.1% to its unions. In 2017, employees' total compensation rose by 3.5% including bonuses.

Mr. Pouyanne said the pay increase was linked to the company's good results.

During a televised address on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron called for companies to offer end-of-year bonuses as part of a national solidarity effort in response to the yellow-vest protests.

Publicis SA (PUB.FR), Altice SA (ATC.AE), Iliad SA (ILD.FR) and Jacquet Metal Service (JCQ.FR) have said they would offer bonus payments of between EUR500 and EUR1,000.
