Outsourcing company Infosys Ltd. (INFY) and global professional services giant Accenture PLC (ACN) on Tuesday announced hiring plans at new U.S. hubs as part of expansion efforts.

Infosys said it would hire 500 workers by 2020 in Richardson, Texas, building on its pledge last year to add 10,000 jobs in the U.S. by 2019.

The Richardson hub will focus on telecommunications, retail and banking sectors, the company said.

Accenture, which had pledged to create about 15,000 highly skilled jobs in the U.S. and add 10 innovation hubs, said it would hire about 300 workers in Seattle by the end of 2020 and expand its U.S. apprenticeship program.

"Many world-class organizations have been born, bred and built in Seattle, and we continue to push the envelope for global innovation," Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said in a statement, adding, "today's news is a clear indicator that Seattle is not slowing down."

Accenture's new hub will share space with Avanade, a joint venture with Microsoft Corp.
