--Facebook has appointed former U.K. deputy prime minister Nick Clegg as head of the social media company's global affairs and communications team, reports the Financial Times.

--The company has faced a series of issues over the last couple of years, including concerns about Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, the Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal and a cyber attack, according to the FT.
