Norsk Hydro Rises on Step Toward Refinery Resumption, Alcoa Falls -- Market Mover

Norsk Hydro ASA's (NHY.OS, NHYDY) Norway-listed shares rose
3.9%, to NOK45.54, on Monday and its American depositary receipts
rose 4.2%, to $5.54. Over the weekend, the company said its
Alunorte alumina refinery in Brazil received authorization to
utilize its press filter, the first step toward resuming
operations. Earlier last week, the company said the refinery was
preparing for a full shutdown. Alcoa Inc. (AA) fell 7.9% on Monday,
to $38.74. The refinery had been running at 50% capacity since
March, when Brazilian authorities ordered it to lower water levels.
