Centrica PLC (CNA.LN) said that its subsidiary, Centrica Storage Ltd., has been awarded a 120 million-pound ($152.8 million) contract by the Tolmount joint venture and infrastructure partners to process gas from the Tolmount field in the southern North Sea.

The owner of British Gas said in a statement on its website dated Saturday that the contract will extend the life of Centrica Storage's gas terminal at Easington in Yorkshire until at least 2030.

The Tolmount gas field has an estimated 500 billion cubic feet of gas reserves and could produce up to 300 million cubic feet of gas a day, Centrica said.

Centrica Storage will start to process the gas in the winter of 2020, the company said.

The Tolmount joint venture and infrastructure partners are Premier Oil PLC (PMO.LN), Dana Petroleum and Humber Gathering System Ltd.
