Boeing Co. (BA) on Tuesday said it reached a deal to sell 35 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters to General Electric Co.'s (GE) commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm.

Boeing said the deal GE Capital Aviation Services, which includes 20 firm orders and an option an additional 15 aircraft, would bring the GE unit's 737-800BCF order book to 50.

Through its freighter conversion program, Boeing transitions passenger airplanes into freighters, extending the service life of the planes. GE Capital Aviation was the launch customer of the new 737-800BCF, taking delivery of the first converted jet in April.

Boeing announced the deal at the Farnborough International Air Show.
