Honorees have demonstrated immense expertise, relentless passion and ongoing dedication to driving partner success at Symantec

Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the world’s leading cyber security company, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named three Symantec channel executives to its prestigious 2018 Women of the Channel list. Claire Dean, Senior Director of Partner Engagement and Communication, Muffin Mott, Head of Global Channel Marketing, and Jana Valenti O’Connor, Senior Director of Channel and Mid-Market Marketing were recognized for their outstanding leadership, vision and unique role in driving channel growth and innovation. The executives who comprise this annual list span the IT channel, representing vendors, distributors, solution providers and other organizations that figure prominently in the channel ecosystem.

In addition to being named as CRN 2018 Women of the Channel, Mott and Valenti O’Connor were also named to the 2018 CRN Power 100 List, an elite subset of its prestigious annual Women of the Channel list. They were recognized as Power 100 recipients as women leaders whose vision and influence are key drivers of Symantec’s success and help move the entire IT channel forward.

Valenti O’Connor has been with Symantec for 20 years and has worked on both the security and information management sides of the business. During her tenure, she’s been an instrumental leader in developing the strategic direction of Symantec's key channel initiatives by leading the company’s field marketing, channel marketing, mid-market and small and medium-sized business marketing teams.

Mott, who joined Symantec via its acquisition of Blue Coat Systems, Inc. in 2016, plays a key role in driving Symantec’s global partner demand generation programs, partner communication strategy, and partner readiness programs. She was an integral part of the recent Symantec Secure One™ partner program launch that supports enterprise security solutions from Symantec.

Dean drives global strategies and initiatives, engaging the partner community to improve the overall experience of partnering with Symantec. Most recently, she led the communication strategy and rollout of Symantec’s business operational changes to streamline the experience of working with Symantec.

“Claire, Muffin and Jana have each been instrumental in ensuring our channel program drives growth for our partners by providing outstanding service,” said Torjus Gylstorff, Vice President, Worldwide Partner Sales, Symantec. “Building a world-class global partner program in the cloud generation requires dedication and hard work. Each of these women continue to go above and beyond, every single day, and this honor is well-deserved. We’re incredibly proud to have them on our team.”

CRN editors select the Women of the Channel honorees based on their professional accomplishments, demonstrated expertise and ongoing dedication to the IT channel.

“This accomplished group of leaders is steadily guiding the IT channel into a prosperous new era of services-led business models and deep, strategic partnerships,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “CRN’s 2018 Women of the Channel list honors executives who are driving channel progress through a number of achievements—exemplary partner programs, innovative product development and marketing, effective team-building, visionary leadership and accelerated sales growth—as well as advocacy for the next generation of women channel executives.”

The 2018 Women of the Channel and Power 100 lists will be featured in the June issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.CRN.com/wotc.
