Conflict Minerals Disclosure

During the period from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. (the “Company,” “Greenbrier” “we,” “us’” or “our”) manufactured certain units of one of our railcar products which contain conflict minerals (as defined in Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010) that we believe are necessary to the functionality or production of those units of that product. Conflict minerals constitute only a small portion of the materials content of these units of our product.

A copy of the Company’s 2017 Conflict Minerals Report is provided as Exhibit 1.01 hereto and is publicly available at http://www.gbrx.com . The information contained on our website is not incorporated by reference into this Form SD or our Conflict Minerals Report and should not be considered part of this report or the Conflict Minerals Report.
