Qualcomm Inc. once again announced its subsidiary was extending its bid to buy NXP Semiconductors N.V., but said that as of yesterday at 5 p.m., only about 4% of NXP's shares had been tendered, a drop from before.

Qualcomm is extending the offer to buy the firm until June 8 at 5 p.m. About 13.9 million shares -- or about 4% of NXP's total outstanding shares -- were tendered as of 5 p.m. yesterday.

The latest extension of Qualcomm's subsidiary's offer, announced earlier this month, was going to end Friday at 5 p.m. About 13.1% of NXP's outstanding common shares -- or about 45.1 million shares -- had been tendered as of May 10 at 5 p.m.

Premarket, shares of Qualcomm rose 0.3% on low volume and shares of NXP dropped 0.4%.
