Illinois American Water announced today that the company’s 2017 Water Quality Reports are now accessible through its website at https://amwater.com/ilaw/water-quality/water-quality-reports. The information in the reports illustrates Illinois American Water’s commitment to performing in line with or better than standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which are enforced by the Illinois EPA.

Also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, this report compares the quality of water supplied by Illinois American Water against standards established by the EPA. The report describes local drinking water source information and shares test results, including all substances detected in the water and their levels.

“We prioritize the quality and reliability of our customers’ water and the safety of their family and our employees— our teams of water quality, plant operation, and water distribution professionals work hard every day to ensure the highest quality water and service,” said Illinois American Water President Bruce Hauk. “We also care a great deal about making sure our customers have everything they need to be informed and responsible consumers.”

By providing an easy way for customers to receive confirmation that their drinking water meets all federal standards for water quality, the company is also working to increase the public’s understanding of the value of water.

“We know that an educated customer is one who will place a higher value on this precious resource and who will have a greater tendency to do his or her part in protecting it. We’re proud to share these reports with the public in order to encourage greater awareness, appreciation and conservation,” said Hauk

In addition to online access, customers can ask for a hard copy to be mailed to them by contacting customer service at 1-800-422-2782.
