An industry body representing the U.K.'s largest brands is
asking Facebook Inc. (FB) for a full account of further potential
issues stemming from the improper use of users' data in the wake of
the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
ISBA, which says it represents more than 3,000 British brands
like HSBC Holdings PLC (HSBA.LN) and Diageo PLC (DGE.LN), said
Thursday that the use of Facebook data for targeted political
advertising is "deeply concerning."
ISBA said it believes political advertising in the U.K. requires
greater regulation and should be brought within the remit of the
Advertising Standards Authority.
