Siemens AG's (SIE.XE) Materials Solutions Ltd. subsidiary will
invest 30 million euros ($36.9 million) in an
additive-manufacturing plant in the British town of Worcester, the
company said Monday.
The investment will more-than double the company's footprint in
the U.K., expanding its fleet of 3D-printing machines to 50 and
creating more than 50 new jobs, Siemens said.
Siemens said the new plant, which is set to open in September,
will provide additive-manufacturing services to a range of
different industries, including aerospace and automotive.
Siemens bought a majority stake in Materials Solutions in 2016.
The business specializes in manufacturing metallic components for
industry through a process known as selective laser melting.
